The Position

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Food Development and Training Manager to join our team. Based in Lewisham, you will be in charge of the implementation of "Journey to Good Health" menus and marketing for schools. You will ensure the quality and service standard within the State Schools sector is maintained and improved as well as communicate a passion for food and service improvement, with regard to presentation and quality within agreed budget limitations. Working five days, Monday to Friday.

Main Responsibilities

  • The compilation, costing and nutritional balancing (Via Nutmeg system) of the 4 week primary and secondary menu cycle, liaising with the client to agree menu and managing its implementation into the business and the implementation of Steamplicity into key schools
  • Staging "On Your Marks" live cooking shows, assemblies and classroom talks on healthy eating in schools. Promoting PR of Chartwells
  • Managing the training team to deliver good quality food production training

The Person

  • Craft Background (associated qualifications) City and Guilds/NVQ or equivalent
  • Demonstrate strong culinary skills and have good presentation skills
  • Able to perform to a large audience with live cooking demonstrations
  • Highly personable with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self motivated and disciplined
  • Able to prioritise, be autonomous and proactive.
  • Motivated, disciplined, a team leader and a team player
